The Dating Pool
Dating is much like fishing; it is a process by which the ultimate goal is to find the perfect piece that will complete your relationship puzzle. By throwing it out there and dangling it around for a while, someone will eventually take a bite. Rest assured you might get a few tires and coke bottles, but eventually the perfect one will come into alignment.
The process can be perceived as somewhat tedious, however, each experience that occurs adds to the knowledge and awareness of who you truly are. Every fish you reel in will certainly have different traits, what is truthfully important is how those traits are integrated with your own. Just because someone has a killer fin doesn’t mean he or she is an exact match.
Often times there are compatibility differences and values that are not aligned. For example if one person holds a high standard of integrity, respect, or honesty but it is not reciprocated, it is a good indication you should abandon ship or else you are both going to the bottom – together.
Another issue that is quiet common is enhancing your bait. Sometimes people feel as if they need a stronger weight or a better bobber to reel in the big fish. Well I am not going to be the first to tell you it’s best to be prepared and use lots of explosives including dynamite and firearms. And while that last thought makes absolute zero sense to this wonderful metaphor, the notion still remains.
You don’t need a badass boat, stink bait, and 120 test line to pull in the best fish, yeah you might get the biggest fish but what happens when the biggest fish is a square and the perfect piece you need for your puzzle is a triangle? Chain saws are nice for cutting wood not fish heads.
A healthy intimate relationship is a bond where there is a great deal of energy exchanged. Two beings working together and sharing an intimate connection is quiet profound and beyond any deep fryer known to man.
