Meditation
Balance thy mind with thy heart to achieve a meditative state.
Meditation can be practiced yes, but it needs to be understood that meditation is not a technique, an exercise or something you do. Meditation is a path of awareness. I use to designate specific times of my day to meditate and what this did was calm the thoughts of my ego/mind. After about two years of meditation I became familiar with what the feeling was like when the mind was calm.
Currently I am very much intune so to speak with the awareness of the mind and the calming of the thoughts. I see myself living a meditation 24/7 and experience it in my life as an ongoing awareness. However at this time I do slip out of the calmness and into the seat of the mind occasionally. Recognition of this is key, because once it happens there is always purpose for it and I can simply move back into balance with the heart.
Integrating the mind with the heart is the goal especially if you wish to remain in the human form. It is when enlightened beings choose not to use the mind as a tool anymore they move on (leave the human body). However, the few that come to assist others will find it easy to integrate the mind by grounding themselves in their body, expanding their consciousness by contextualizing their perception of Reality with unconditional Love and choosing not to polarize with the world. To be in this world but not to be of it.
